Introducing Razorback (Content Management System)

Razorback is an easy to use, powerful Content Management and eCommerce platform

Things we are makingPosted by Andy on 18 April 2011

Razorback is our CMS and eCommerce platform. Although at first glance this does not sound very interesting, Razorback is currently our most important piece of software. Since its first deployment on a live website in May of 2010, we have launched a further two dozen websites using Razorback as the Content Management System. It has proved itself to be an absolutely key asset for the company, because we built it to address as many of the problems we faced with other CMS's as we could. Now, Razorback has been added to the suite of CMS we offer to clients when they ask us to create proposals for a website or system (we do not always suggest Razorback, see our article about the benefits of offering choice to find out why).

At present, we have a whole lot of additional work planned on Razorback. This work is not being added to try and compete with other more feature-rich CMS's. We are adding this functionality so that we can deploy Razorback more efficiently and cost effectively, and to make it even more flexible and easier to use. We are also planning on making Razorback improvements more of a core part of our business now we have an established userbase, and to make it an even more persuasive proposition in amongst the other CMS and eCommerce choices we offer.

For those that are interested, Razorback is built in with .NET in the Monorail MVC framework.

You can find out more about Razorback on the Razorback Twitter account. Better still, take a look at our Razorback intro movie, and our user movies. Here's our intro movie below.
